Romania Greenhouse Hydroponic Tower Trial for Lettuce and Strawberry Commercial Production

To fully utilize an idle glass greenhouse, a client from Romania abandoned the traditional greenhouse model, aiming to create a more modern, efficient, and eco-friendly greenhouse using hydroponic equipment. The client plans to grow various high-demand market crops (such as lettuce, cabbage, spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries) for sale within the greenhouse. Combined with complementary services, this will establish a complete chain from planting to market supply and sales.

During discussions, we detailed various hydroponic tower system models tailored to the greenhouse's structure, lighting conditions, and crop types. Featuring vertical farming design, these towers maximize planting capacity within minimal floor space—ideal for structures with ample height but limited ground area. Paired with recirculating systems, they maintain stable, oxygen-rich root environments, accelerating growth, ensuring uniform size, and significantly reducing water consumption compared to traditional methods.

To identify the optimal configuration for their project, the client opted to conduct planting trials first. They purchased 10 different hydroponic tower models, acquiring 2-3 units of each type. This allows for comparative evaluation of how different tower models perform in actual production settings, varying by height, number of planting positions, and management approaches.

The client stated that after the first planting cycle concludes, they will determine the primary model for bulk procurement based on yield, management efficiency, and market feedback. Within this glass greenhouse, the vertical farm created by the hydroponic towers has achieved a seamless process from planting to harvest to sales, laying a solid foundation for establishing a stable, high-quality farm-to-table model in the future.
