42 Plant Hydroponic Tower for Small Scale Urban Farming and Fresh Leafy Greens in the UK

The growing demand for fresh leafy greens in the UK is creating new opportunities for small scale agriculture. After gaining practical experience with hydroponic cultivation, the customer recognized its potential as a business opportunity and wanted to explore the possibility of moving from small scale home growing toward a commercial indoor hydroponic farm.

At the beginning of the project, instead of making a large investment in a complete indoor farming facility, the customer decided to purchase one 6P7 hydroponic tower as a sample for indoor home growing trials. The 6P7 features a vertical growing design with 42 planting sites, allowing growers to make better use of limited floor space while keeping the system flexible for future expansion. The customer selected lettuce as the main crop. As a popular leafy green vegetable, lettuce has a relatively short growing cycle, consistent market demand, and is well suited to hydroponic cultivation. Indoor growing can also reduce the impact of low temperatures, rainfall, and other changing outdoor conditions while making it easier to manage light, temperature, water, and nutrient supply.

As the project progresses, the customer is preparing a new indoor growing site with plans to increase production capacity. For small scale ecological farms, community gardens, and urban farming projects in the UK, hydroponic towers can maximize vertical growing space, increase planting density, and allow production capacity to expand according to market demand.
