Commercial hydroponic tower setup for urban agriculture in Denmark

In Denmark, the demand for fresh, healthy, and sustainable food continues to grow, creating new opportunities for local fresh produce markets. Due to the country’s colder climate and long winter season, traditional outdoor farming can be affected by seasonal changes, making stable year-round vegetable production a challenge. At the same time, increasing attention toward sustainable agriculture, water-saving farming, and urban agriculture solutions is driving the adoption of advanced soilless growing technologies.

A customer from Denmark recognized the potential of vertical hydroponic farming and decided to develop a local fresh vegetable supply business using hydroponic tower systems. Compared with traditional soil-based farming, vertical hydroponic systems do not rely on soil conditions. Through efficient water circulation and multi-layer vertical growing design, they maximize space utilization, increase planting density, and reduce water consumption, making them ideal for urban farming and commercial vegetable production.

After detailed discussions about the customer’s goals and future plans, the customer decided to begin with a small-scale hydroponic farming trial. Since the customer previously had experience mainly with traditional farming methods and had limited practical experience with hydroponic cultivation, starting with a pilot project allowed them to better understand the growing process before expanding into a larger commercial operation.

The customer finally selected 4 sets of 8P10 hydroponic towers for local testing. Designed for high-density vertical cultivation, the 8P10 hydroponic tower provides multiple planting sites within a compact footprint. It is suitable for growing various leafy greens and herbs, including lettuce, kale, basil, and other fresh vegetables.

Using a recirculating hydroponic system, the tower continuously delivers water and nutrients directly to plant roots, helping growers achieve more efficient resource management. Compared with traditional agriculture, vertical hydroponic farming can significantly improve space efficiency while supporting cleaner, more controlled, and sustainable vegetable production.

Through this pilot project, the customer will evaluate different crop varieties under local Danish growing conditions, including growth cycles, yield performance, and market response. The collected data will provide valuable insights for optimizing future production plans. Our team will also provide technical support throughout the growing process, helping the customer adjust cultivation parameters, analyze production data, and evaluate commercial returns. This approach will create a solid foundation for future expansion into larger-scale vertical hydroponic farming projects in Denmark.
