Indoor Hydroponic Strawberry Farming in Mauritius

In Mauritius, high temperatures, high humidity and limited land resources are common challenges for traditional agriculture. In order to achieve a year-round supply of strawberries, an entrepreneur chose our hydroponic system with the intention of launching an indoor strawberry growing vertical farming project.

The customer chose the 6P7 hydroponic tower system, which consists of 7 tiers with a total of 42 planting spaces, and each hydroponic system can accommodate more than 200 strawberry plants. The automated nutrient cycling device ensures that the strawberries are always in optimal nutrient supply. The vertical hydroponic structure significantly improves the efficiency of space utilization and is particularly suitable for regions like Mauritius where land is limited and the climate is hot and humid.

In order to improve the yield and quality of the strawberries, the client customized the plant with full-spectrum LED grow lights, which are specially designed to accelerate the photosynthesis process, promote flowering and fruiting, and enhance the sweetness of the fruits. The growing environment is precisely controlled, with the temperature maintained at a stable 22 to 25°C and relative humidity at 60% to 70%, creating an ideal growing environment for strawberries. This highly controllable indoor hydroponics system effectively circumvents the pests and diseases, seasonal changes and climatic uncertainties commonly associated with outdoor growing.

The hydroponic tower system has given the customer great confidence in yields and plans to further expand their own commercial strawberry growing in the future.
