Client Requirements: The client has a 1,500-square-meter greenhouse and plans to use the Dutch model to grow high-flavor tomatoes. The client has planting experience, will handle their own fertilization and control systems, and requires us to provide related accessories.
Design Plan: Considering the extremely hot local climate and the precious water resources, as well as the client's demand for high-flavor tomatoes, we designed a Dutch bucket hydroponic system for them. The Dutch bucket system is an ideal choice for hydroponically growing deep-rooted, fruit-bearing plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and blueberries in a greenhouse, which prefer light and vertical growth. With a nutrient solution formulated by LYINE's planting engineers, high-quality tomatoes that meet the local taste preferences can be produced.
Implementation Steps: The technical team created a floor plan and a 3D rendering of the Dutch bucket system based on the greenhouse layout and orientation. According to the layout plan, we calculated the required number of Dutch buckets, types and lengths of pipes, the water tank capacity needed for irrigation, and details of the water and fertilizer control system. After verification and confirmation, the project was successfully implemented.
Project Outcomes: Due to their excellent taste, the tomatoes grown in this project have gained a very good market reputation, with orders exceeding supply.
