Commercial NFT Hydroponic Greenhouse Strawberry Farming in Saudi Arabia

Agricultural investors from Saudi Arabia are seeking more efficient and long-term profitable ways to produce crops for their greenhouse projects. In the Middle East's hot, arid climate with limited freshwater resources, traditional soil-based agriculture faces challenges like high costs and unstable yields. Meanwhile, market prices for fresh vegetables and high-quality fruits remain persistently high. Building upon existing greenhouse construction plans, the client sought to implement a hydroponic system suitable for commercial replication and efficient management. Following discussions and solution evaluations, we recommended the A-Frame NFT Hydroponic System. The NFT system employs proven nutrient film technique, where a stable, thin layer of nutrient solution continuously flows over plant roots. This provides vegetables with ample water, nutrients, and oxygen, delivering significant water savings while promoting rapid, uniform crop growth. The produce ultimately reaches major supermarkets, restaurants, and household dining tables.


The A-frame structure allows the NFT system to maximize vertical space within greenhouses, transforming flat planting into multi-tiered layouts. This significantly boosts yield per unit area within limited space. This configuration is particularly suited to the Middle East's greenhouse-centric intensive agriculture model, ensuring high productivity while streamlining daily management and harvesting.


During the project's initial phase, the client ordered 15 NFT systems for trial cultivation. These systems are now fully installed and operational within the greenhouse, with strawberries—a high-value crop—selected for the first planting cycle. Field feedback indicates stable system operation, smooth nutrient solution circulation, and robust strawberry growth. Both fruit quality and yield meet expectations, with the client expressing high satisfaction with overall results.


The hydroponic NFT system offers a relatively accessible initial investment threshold while delivering advantages such as high yields, low water consumption, and standardized management. These features help shorten the investment return cycle and reduce initial operational risks, making it an excellent choice for investors looking to launch hydroponic agriculture projects.
